Why Local Press Is Important For Firewalking Success and Fundraising

Charity Firewalks are powered on local good will.

That is why local press is so important. In this digital age, local press websites are desperate for local news and photos, which is why when we run a firewalk, we recommend getting in touch with local news sites before your event. Directly after the firewalk you should then write a short and fun article, with details such as venue, number of walkers, who ran the event (that’s us), what was the cause, and add a group photo (which we will take and give to you), and importantly, how much has been raised. Always add links to your organization and ours too, to help elevate the importance for SEO.

It’s such low hanging fruit AND has a very long-tail (unlike socials) from sites with high ranking domain authority (important for SEO).

We are running an event soon for a school who did this successfully a while back and you can see the article here. Note how little information is needed – very little effort and lots of upside. As of writing this post, the news site this article is on has domain has a ranking of 58, which is pretty high. Here’s the article…
