Getting A Tattoo After A Firewalk Experience

By Katy Sarson

I have done the firewalk twice now, and both times have been truly needed.

Not that I knew this the first time, I thought I was being stupid for even thinking walking on fire would be a good idea.

But wow what an experience! And the best thing I have ever done.

Thanks to the firewalk I was able to regain myself and find the strength I had long lost after struggling with PND. After the first firewalk I noticed I was much happier in myself and felt like a new women. I found my worth again. I wasn’t just mum anymore, I was Katy again, but a new and improved version.

The second firewalk came not long after my son had surgery and became very ill (luckily he’s all well now). I noticed myself struggling and again, after the firewalk, I was able to find my warrior self to stay strong for my son.

This time I noticed even more changes in my life. I had struggled with connections with people, and I hated being touched or hugged by anyone. But after the seconed firewalk, I found that I was able to let my walls down, and now I’m in a good relationship and have a strong connection with my family members again.

So that tattoo! I got it as the firewalk was the best and most powerful thing I have ever done, and the one thing that saved me.

And the words are the words I now stand by.

In order to get through life and the ineviatbel struggles, I now choose to embrace myself and trust my fears, and thus find the power within me.

So this tattoo is my reminder of the experience and the words that have changed me.
