Can You Run A Firewalk On Any Surface? Car Park? Garden? Playing Field?

As a general rule, yes.

For most firewalks, we protect the ground. First, with several heat retardant boards, then multiple layers of turf.

This means we can run firewalks in most spaces, though we do need to carry out a site survey first (usually done via Google maps now, and in consultation with you, the organisers.)

There are other simple factors to look out for too, such as low hanging trees and access to a water source. We can go through this with you on the phone or Zoom.

Our preferred method though, is where we can burn the grass. This is usually something like a farmers field where the farmer is grateful for the nutrients that will infuse the ground after the firewalk.

It’s much less hassle for everyone if we can do this, and it also means we can extend the firewalk on the night. Our current record is 12m! We believe in offering firewalkers the opportunity to walk again and again, each time making the firewalk longer.  It makes the event unforgettable!

The clear up afterward is also very important, so that we leave the venue exactly as we found it.

Take a look at the video and it will show you what the process entails for protecting the ground. And send us a message to see if we can advise you on if a Firewalk is right for you.
